Kanban Board

The Kanban board shows tasks as cards in columns. Drag cards between columns to update status—ideal for day-to-day workflow.

Open it from the sidebar: Kanban Board.

Board basics

  • Scroll horizontally if you have many columns
  • Each column is a workflow stage (e.g. To Do → In Progress → Completed)
  • Cards show a title and description

Default columns

New projects include:

  • To Do
  • In Progress
  • Staging
  • Completed

To Do, In Progress, and Completed are core columns and can’t be deleted.

Working with cards

Add a card

  1. Click + on a column header
  2. Enter title and description
  3. Save — a linked task is created in the project

Move a card

Drag a card to another column. The task’s status updates to match that column.

Moving to Completed may be blocked if the task has unfinished sub-tasks—finish those first in the task editor.

Edit or delete

  • Edit — opens the full task panel (assignees, dates, sub-tasks, etc.)
  • Delete — removes the task (confirmation required)

Columns

Add a column

Click Add Column, enter a name, and save. Reserved names (like the defaults) can’t be reused.

Rename or delete

  • Edit (pencil) — rename; task statuses with the old name update to the new name
  • Delete (trash) — only for custom columns; deletes all cards in that column (with confirmation)

Reorder columns

Drag column headers left or right.

Tips

  • Keep column names aligned with statuses you use in the Table and Task List
  • Use Staging for work ready for review or deployment
  • Empty columns show “Drop cards here” when you drag over them

Sync with other views

Kanban shares data with the Task List, Table, and Gantt. A card move updates status everywhere; edits in the task panel update the card text.
